Benchmark Study 2024 - Property Developers Going Digital

Profitability in Germany's property development environment is coming under growing pressure from changing financial and regulatory framework conditions. Digitalization holds a promise of the best route to optimizing processes, cutting costs and enhancing efficiency.

For the study, German project developers from Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich were surveyed online from July to September 2023. The questions covered the following topics - company size and number of employees, number of projects and project development volume, specific responsibilities, roles and investment budgets for digitalisation processes, start of digitalisation in the service phases, implementation of digitalisation modules in the property and in rental agreements, importance of certificates for buildings and challenges in the area of digitalisation.
